Harvest

Autumn in Kansas brings
many beautiful and unusual sights -
like this looonnnggg row
of round hay bales!

An Autumn Greeting
"Come," said the Wind to the Leaves one day.
"Come over the meadow and we will play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold.
For summer is gone and the days grow cold."
(Anonymous)

Another unusual sight
is all the cold rain we've had here lately -
very unusual for Kansas in November -
Brrrrr!!!

God's Mosaic

It's harvest time in Kansas -
Milo harvest, that is!
The last harvest of the year here.
It is brought in by the semi-trucks
and deposited in two HUGE piles at the edge
of our little town.
Each pile is several stories high,
and nearly a block long!
Soon it will be headed out of town
in the train cars that roll along
the track in front of it.
How they do that is a mystery to me!
It is used to make feed for cattle.
But I think God intended it
to add some spectacular
Autumn color to our little town
before Winter comes!

Last Daisy of Summer

I had a little garden on my porch this year -
Tomatoes, Four-o'clock, Geraniums,
and Daisies.  LOTS of daisies!!

I think they are so cheery!
And it's quite surprising that any have lasted
until November -
but this one brave little soldier did!

Something worth celebrating!

Little Country Church

Little Country Church.
Found this sweet little church
one day when I was out meandering
the Kansas backroads . . .
hope you enjoy!

"Tabernacle"
.
By Karla Worley & Brent Lamb

Chorus
Down by the tabernacle, oh,
Where the June bugs danced
And the lemonade flowed
And we prayed and we sang ‘til
The sun sank low
Laughing with our sisters and brothers.
Down by the tabernacle, hey,
Where you knew you were loved
And you wanted to stay,
Though the Texas heat
Was like judgment day,
We always enjoyed each other.

Autumn Gold

Just out rambling around today . . .
enjoying the golden beauty of autumn.
Wonder where the train is going today?
Want to come along?

Crock Pot Corn and Potato Chowder - Yummy Fall Fare!

There's a crispness in the air in Kansas these days -
Fall is finally here!  Yay!
Today is kinda rainy-drizzly-cloudy outside,
so it's the perfect time for some yummy Fall delicious-ness!

So I cranked up my crock pot, and made one of my favorite soups -
"Crock Pot Corn and Potato Chowder!"
a great recipe I found via Pinterest at the
"Crock Pot Gourmet"!
Here is the link -

Served with crackers and cheese,
it really hit the spot on this chilly day!
Enjoy!

Down a Country Road - September Beauty ~

 photo Tree20on20Hwy20362020Pretty_zpsolwgy1mp.jpg

September

by Helen Hunt Jackson

The goldenrod is yellow;
The corn is turning brown;
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down.

The gentian's bluest fringes
 Are curling in the sun;
In dusky pods the milkweed
It's hidden silk has spun.

The sedges flaunt their harvest
In every meadow-nook,
And asters by the brookside
Make asters in the brook.

From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies.

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather,
And autumn's best of cheer.

Happy "Feast of Trumpets" - Yom Teruah!

It's time to celebrate Yeshua- and His soon return for His Bride!

The festive table is set here at the
Little Prairie Home!
Homemade Challah Bread - an ancient tradition -
and sparkling grape juice -
and the candle symbolizing our
Messiah Yeshua, the Light of the World!
Gracing the table along with the food is
my treasured prayer shawl -
a gift from a dear friend!
On it are embroidered the words of the
Prayer of Jabez, found in the Bible -
"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm
so that I will be free from pain.”
(1 Chronicles 4:10)

Chag Sameach, chevarim!
(Happy Holiday, friends!)

Happy Fall, Ya'll !!!

Peanut and I want to wish you all
a very happy Fall!
It is almost here now in Kansas -
there is a "nip" in the air,
and I can hardly wait for
pumpkin everything, apple cider simmering,
crunchy leaves, warm snuggly sweatshirts,
the Messianic holidays of
Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot,
 and Thanksgiving!
And what better way to bring in the Autumn
season than to make yourself into
the CUTEST little Fall
decoration on Mommy's table!!!!!
